Alexander Ministries International Inc was
founded by Darrell and Donnia Alexander, officially, in January of 2010
when the ministry became recognized as a nonprofit in the United
States of America. But unofficially Alexander Ministries
International has been in operation since 1984 when Darrell started
ministering the gospel.
Pastor Darrell and Donnia Alexander
are currently full-time field missionaries living in the capital city of Lima,
Perú and have the privilege of traveling throughout South America
and working with many pastors and local churches.
As exciting and rewarding as that is, they could
not do it without a lot of help. From the very beginning as they
prepared to move to the mission field God
provided faithful people to
help. These 'helpers' are like Timothy was to Paul - faithful and ready to help
as a matter of fact,
they call them
the “Timothy Team”.
The Timothy Team volunteers their time helping state side,
doing the office work, sending out year-end partner letters, mailing out birthday and anniversary cards and
sending out ministry correspondence.
In truth Darrell & Donnia could not begin to do
everything that needs to be done without this kind of help. Darrell
says emphatically, “I believe we have the best team any missionary
could ask for! They have made things so much easier for us and
because of them we have seen much success.
Please take a moment and meet these four
wonderful friends and partners - Rod & Cheryl Kroll &
James & Jacinthe Hopson - and we want to take this
opportunity to introduce to you another couple that have become dear to
this ministry- Jeff & Melissa Mace - whom you will know more about in the near future.
Not only do all of these couples help with the
natural things while Darrell & Donnia are on the mission field but
they also help by encouraging them and praying for them and just
being there when a friend is needed.
Rod is on the board of AMI and he is my best friend. From the moment I met Rod I liked him and knew we would be doing something together one day but I did not know he would be such an important
and vital part of this ministry.
I can absolutely say that if it were not for Rod and his wife, Cheryl, we would not have been able to stay on the mission field as long as we have.
He has been such a wonderful blessing to me and Donnia and this ministry. From day one he was there being a true Timothy, as a matter of fact Rod said of himself after reading Tony Cooke's book “In search of Timothy” "after 53 years I have finally found out who I am, I'm a Timothy".
Cheryl is also on the board of AMI and a best friend too. She is the brains of the outfit, I often say, as she takes care of the finances and the bookkeeping. She has also been there with us from the very start and always believed in us.
Cheryl is a huge blessing to me and Donnia and this ministry, a true “Timothy” from working in the office to cleaning out the sewer in Peru (Rod was in on that job as well) so a whole mission team could take showers and use the bathroom, she will see to the task at hand and get it done.
James is just one of those people that when you meet them you know you have met a genuine person who loves God with all his heart. He volunteers in his church in the lighting and sound department and he helps AMI with our mail outs to pastors and partners.
James and I graduated from the same Bible school and I have had the pleasure of knowing him for the past 8 years. He is an awesome father and husband and a true friend.
Oh and did I mention he is a great cook and can smoke some of the best meat you have ever tasted and top it off with his own signature sauces…..
If you have received a Birthday or
Anniversary card from AMI it’s because of this organized and diligent
lady. We asked her to consider helping us out by mailing out a few cards
for us because it is much too expensive and difficult for us to send
mail to the states from Peru.
She said she would love to help,
at that time we only had a few each month, but now we have several more
and it’s growing all the time. Jacinthe is a great blessing to this
ministry. What she does allows Donnia and I to do something we believe
is very important - keep in touch with those who partner with us.
Pastor Jeff is as easy and laid back as a gentle country breese
in the Tennessee valley, which just so happens is where he hails from,
that is until you get him to talking about his Jesus.
At that point he turns into pure energy that ignites everyone
around him. His excitement, joy and genuine love and exuberance shine
forth in a truly spectacular way.
Not only does his natural excitement help him be an effective
minister but he has learned how to cooperate with the Spirit of God.
Jeff is no novice when it comes to filling his place behind the
pulpit or on the mission field, having traveled to multiple countries
and a few continents of the world bringing the message of God’s
unconditional love and grace.
If you combine someone with a gentle voice, a comforting smile, a whole mess
of sweet southern charm and the love of God, who would you have? Well, you would have
Pastor Melissa Mace. But don’t let that fool you, this woman of God is as smart and anointed as they come.
She is the wife of Jeff and an exciting minister in her own right.
She too has ministered in several countries and different continents of the world bringing the word of God’s goodness to many who were hurting and without hope.
Whether she is filling the podium as a bible school instructor or in the office as an administrator or at the hospital, Melissa is doing it all with the excellence and grace, demonstrating the love of God in action.
